Week 6 and 7

Wow! We have been so busy! We have been homeschooling for 7 weeks now! There are so many great things about homeschool. Lately I have decided to recognize the good things to remind myself why I am not putting Elliot on the bus ( I really need to make a list and put it where I can see it each day). A few are the relationship between Elliot and Lillian, of course they have their moments but I can see their sibling bond growing each day. It is also a joy to see the topics that light up Elliot's personality. You know if he is really enjoying a topic when he will lecture to you about it:) We also have time to do a lot of extra things like park play dates, golf lessons, going to the library and this week we finished school in 4 days which meant that friday we had time to play at the park after breakfast, do extra art and reading, and lots of lego building. I am truly blessed that I have this opportunity to be with my kids and watch them learn and grow!
Last week we finished our first story time chapter book " The Adventures of Reddy Fox", it took a little while but we both started to enjoy all of Reddy's adventures. We talked about the weather in science, and did an experiment to learn about the different types of clouds. We are gradually adding in extra books and activities to our current curriculum. Even though it is a complete curriculum put together by a kindergarten teacher, I still find that Elliot enjoys extra reading, science and history.
We are looking forward to this coming week because we have a new play group for Lillian to attend, library day, and Elliot's park play group and P.E. class.

Here he is making a cake

We also learned about the layers of soil and he made edible soil
Lillian was busy decorating herself with stickers but she didn't want to take a picture:)
